From the Pastor's desk

Dear Friends of Campus Lutheran,

    I am proud to be a part of Nebraska Lutheran Campus Ministry and especially the ministry at the University of Nebraska at Kearney campus, where students come in times of trouble, as well as  joy and celebration.

    Two weeks after the Fall semester began, one of our Freshmen students experienced the tragic death of her college roommate as the result of an auto accident. The student's first reaction upon receiving  the news was to seek comfort at Campus Lutheran, where she knew she would find a community that cared for her and would offer a warm embrace; a community that would share in her sorrow, and when the time is right, celebrate with her in God's promise of life everlasting.

    Nebraska Lutheran Campus Ministry's mission is to "Invite people in academic settings more deeply into Jesus Christ and the community which bears His name, so that they may discover and fulfill their vocation as disciples."

    We celebrate that six students are discerning their call to different ministry opportunities within the church through visits to Wartburg Seminary in Dubuque Iowa ans Gettysburg Seminary in Pennsylvania.

    With the support of our friends and alumni, Campus Lutheran will continue to invite people onto this community and help them to discover their vocation as disciples through its traditions of meaningful worship, Bible studies, service opportunities, fellowship and identifying and encouraging future church leaders.
